Acupuncture

A gentle, non-invasive, ancient Chinese approach.

Why Acupuncture for Pets?

Acupuncture is a gentle, minimally invasive therapy that helps support healing in pets dealing with illness or injury. It’s especially beneficial for those living with chronic conditions like arthritis, where long-term comfort and mobility are a priority.

Rooted in ancient Chinese medicine, acupuncture has been used for centuries to restore balance and promote the body’s natural healing processes. By stimulating specific points on the body, this therapy helps improve circulation, support the immune system, and encourage overall wellness. It’s often used alongside traditional veterinary care to enhance results and improve quality of life.

When Is Acupuncture Recommended?

Acupuncture can benefit pets experiencing a wide range of health concerns, including:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Arthritis and musculoskeletal issues
  • Cancer and side effects related to chemotherapy
  • Respiratory conditions such as asthma
  • Skin concerns, including allergies
  • Acute or chronic conditions not responding to traditional treatments
  • Ongoing conditions currently being managed with medication

It’s also commonly used to support neurological recovery, strengthen immune function, and improve comfort and mobility in senior pets.

How Does Veterinary Acupuncture Work?

During an acupuncture session, very thin, sterile needles are gently placed into specific points on your pet’s body. These points are selected based on your pet’s individual condition and treatment goals.

Most pets tolerate acupuncture extremely well. Because the needles are fine, discomfort is minimal to nonexistent. Many pets relax during their session and may even lie down or become sleepy.

Each treatment is customized, and the number of sessions varies depending on your pet’s needs and response. Some pets benefit from a short series of treatments, while others do best with ongoing sessions every few weeks. Appointments typically last about 30 minutes.
